FALL AT PATINA HOME & GARDEN
Summer is leaving on gusts of wind, picking off the leaves of yellowing trees as it goes.
As they make their way to the ground, they flutter through the air, twisting and twirling, one more dance before they meet the ground. The branches are growing more bare by the day.
The same winds that carry the past away hold what is to come. Autumn enters and builds a bridge between two seasons of extremes.
It arrives on chilly mornings, dew dotted on what is left of the green grass, until the lingering warmth takes hold of the afternoon. It carries with it harvest baskets of pumpkins and apples, their flesh holding the last of the summer sun.
All a reminder of the beauty of change, and the inevitability of it, too.
At Patina, we have been watching as autumn has encroached, allowing our shelves to shift day by day as we let nature lead us.
If we had to pick one word to encapsulate this time of year, it would be warmth. Fall carries with it golden light, rich colors, abundant harvest, and invitations to draw nearer to those we love.
We have captured the golden light with our collection of candles, in a range of autumnal scents. As their flames flicker, their aromas serve as a sweet welcome to visitors and immerse us in the changing season.
The color scheme of the shop has shifted from vibrant tones of summer to the glowing hues of fall. Rich shades of red, orange, and yellow connect us with the world outside our doors.
This is also a time of abundance, as baskets come in from the garden, overflowing with the last of the harvest.
We have brought ours to the shop, dotting displays with pumpkins and hanging a garland of glass gem corn in the Farm Shop. This is my favorite way to decorate for the seasons, by bringing the beauty of the outdoors in.
As we welcome visitors and watch them make their way through the shop, it is our hope that they feel more connected and present. That our collections and displays leave them feeling inspired to embrace all the charm, warmth, and wonder that can be found in our ever-changing world.
